Holiday Season = Engagement Season

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and before you know it Christmas and New Years will be here.
And with the holiday season comes another season.....ENGAGEMENT SEASON.

This next couple of months will fly so don't loose one planning minute for your 2014 wedding.  Trends are fun for next year. Wondering what they are, lets talk about some of them.

SEQUINS, love them or leave em.  I happen to love them.  A little shimmer or a lot, they are FUN!!

I feel like I need to have a special group that I can go to and talk about my love of sequins.  A little sparkle here and there, well, I think it is what makes the world go round.
And with colors like navy blue, aqua, pink, nude and of course all of the metallic colors, amazing.

So after looking for some visuals for this post and after totally getting caught up in the glimmer and sparkle here goes.  Be inspired!!

From a small splash of sequins.....adorable.

Joe and Millie

Yes I know there is not a single flower in this picture but I just had to use it.  Isn't it adorable.  Love it.

I love this picture

Polo Roses, Pink Majolica Roses, Pink Stock and Craspedia.

Millie called me with a special request for her bridal bouquet.  The Bible that you see pictured above is a family bible that has been carried by many of the brides in her family.  She wanted to carry on that tradition.  Most often a heirloom like this is held flat and the flowers are placed on top of the bible.  But Millie wanted a round hand tied bouquet and asked if I could think of a creative way to include their family Bible in a round bouquet and the picture above shows how it worked out.  Beautiful Polo Roses, Pink Stock, Pink Majolica Roses and Craspedia. The lace and the button were elements that she used in her bridesmaids bouquets which she made out of fabric flowers.  I incorporated them with the bible to help cover the mechanics that held the bible in the bouquet.

Photos in the rain are so sweet.

This is the expression that you want to see on a brides face when she first sees her bouquet.  Day made!!

Such cute centerpieces.  Millie did these herself but I couldn't resist showing you a picture of them.

Josh and Lisa Duvall

Look at the smiles of this happy couple.

Lisa's bridal bouquet contained blue hydrangea (gorgeous), pruple spray roses, majolica spray rose and blue delphinium.  Not really visible in this picture are some sweet stephanotis but you can see them in a picture coming up.

Beautiful bride.

Lisa had a large bridal party of 10 bridesmaids.  The bridesmaids bouquets contained light blue hydrangea, blue iris and  majolica spray rose.

There are those sweet stephanotis in the brides bouquet.

One happy bride!

The wedding reception was held at the gorgeous and historic Temple of Performing Arts downtown Des Moines, IA

The bridal party were real troopers.  The weather was warm and humid.  I think it was in the 100's on the day of Josh and Lisa's wedding.  This was in the trolley that took them from place to place for pictures and transported them to the reception. Still have a few smiles left.

lommis Wedding

Brides bouquet of Blizzard roses, purple dahlias, green mini hydrangeas, soft pink roses, green hypericum berries and purple phaleonopsis orchids.
Beautiful bride in the doorway of the historic church that is under renovation in Des Moines, IA The Kathedral at 901 19th St.

Another angle on the brides bouquet.  I loved this bouquet.  The purple dahlias were so gorgeous and the orchids, amazing.
The bridesmaids each wore a different color.  Purple, green and orange, so for their bouquets we used white blizzard roses and mini green hydrangea, ti leaves and ribbons that coordintated with their dresses.

Groom and groomsman wore white roses with green hypericum berries. A little added touch of the green hydrangea for the groom.
Centerpieces were simple and organic,  River rock with minis green hydrangea and a white rose simply placed in the vase.  Perfect touch for the room.
Brides and their shoes.  Love them.

I put this photo in because I love this pose.  So romantic.  I know, I am a hopeless romantic and I wouldn't change that at all.

White Roses sumberged in vases were placed every where on the platform of the sanctuary along with bunches of votive candles, of course.
